Elżbieta was born and spent her childhood years in a very small town on the banks of the Bug river in eastern Poland. As a very young artistically talented girl, she moved from her parents home looking for an education. She chose the Lyceum of Fine Arts in Nowy Wiśnicz - a town in the southern part of the country not far from the Carpathian Mountains. The beautiful nature and atmosphere of this place helped Elżbieta to develop her manual gifts. After she had completed the school course, she met her husband - Marian Babicz. Thus she stayed by her two loves: the man of her life and inspiring surroundings. The couple work together. She creates leather masterpieces and he is her agent. Our works represent a kind of art invented and mastered in Poland for over six centuries now. It dates back to the times when women received the leftover scraps of leather from saddlers and used to make tiny adornments to decorate their houses. Later framed pictures and other decorative ornaments were merged with practical items like clocks or mirrors. They enhanced not only the living areas of folk people, but also contributed to the splendour in the chambers of Kings and Princes. Today, after hard years of regulated and limited freedom, people in Poland are showing the talents and energy they possess.
